He also has a tiny, almost unnoticeable scar on his right cheekbone from a fight.

The Texan has never been big on clothing; he wears what he wants when he wants. But, Avan mainly just wears ripped up jeans or work pants, t-shirts and flannel button-ups. Melissophobia : Fear of bears
Ever since a horrific accident in his life, Avan has been terrified of bears; sometimes a picture can jar his memory. His scars are a reminder of the incident, and he tries to bear them confidently, but it becomes difficult sometimes, even if the mauling took place eleven years ago.
Nosocomephobia : Fear of hospitals
Avan hates hospitals. Period. They bring back too many painful memories; when his mother was dying of lung cancer, when he almost lost his own life, etc.
Apiphobia: Fear of bees
Yes, it's ridiculous, and if you were to ask Avan about it he would tell you in full detail why bees are the insects of the devil and how evil they are. Despite his exaggeration, Avan is actually scared of bees. The sensation of being stinged is what he hates the most. He can handle needles, knifes, anything -- just not bee stings.

When there is a job to be done, Avan completely throws himself into finishing that task. From years of working on a ranch, he's learned to work hard and gets things done when they need to get done. He's the farthest thing from lazy and looks down on those who are. His stubbornness and sense of self-discipline help fuel his strong desire to finish things and do them to the best of his ability. Yep. You guessed it -- Avan is a giant jerk. He lacks shame, and will say whatever he wants when he wants. And if you don't like it, too bad. When Avan is over-stressed he may exhibit rash emotional outbursts of anger, or on the other extreme may be overwhelmed by emotions and feelings which he may feel compelled to share with people (often inappropriately). Over the years, Avan has lost many people dear to him all because he couldn't keep his mouth shut and stop being mean. Its not that he doesn't care about people's feelings; he just doesn't understand them, and isn't quite sure how to be sympathetic when he hurts someone. He's not a bully; he doesn't intentionally seek people out, but rather just tends to say the wrong things at the wrong time.

Avan is so wrapped up with keeping his personal life a secret and blocking people out of his world, that he often forgets to ever let anyone in. Deep inside, he's embarrassed and ashamed of himself for such bad habits, but he puts on a mask and acts like its no big deal. Although he's only twenty-six, Avan is quite the alcoholic. Which leads to passing out and having a mild hangover in the morning. He still hasn't been able to control throwing up, though -- this does not make him happy. Puking is nasty. On the other hand, Avan has become dependent on pain & anti-depressant medications; he keeps a box of pills under his bed, and takes them regularly along with a mixture of other pills. He's kinda a messed up guy, for lack of better words.

Yes, Avan is a compulsive and manipulative liar. Sometimes it's bad and sometimes it isn't, and all depends on the lie and the situation. Not get me wrong, he doesn't like all the time. But, let's say if you asked him if he got his paper work finished, he'd say yes even if he hasn't even looked at it. If you ask him anything personal, he'll either lie or change the subject. He also tends to lie just to get what he wants, and if he wants something, more then half of the time he's going to get it.

Avan has always been into music, and he spent a big chunk of his life devoting himself to learning about music to help him cope with certain aspects of his life. Long story short, Avan and his father do not get along. On very rare occasions they can tolerate one anther's company and be laid back and calm, but mainly they fight, argue, and disagree completely with one another; like an out of control roller coaster that never seems to end. Avan never talks about his father; when the topic comes up, he brushes it off and changes the subject. He hates seeing people with picture perfect parents, because its what he wishes he had. But then again, you can't always get what you want.
MOTHER:
Mother ; Ellie Marie Warren ; Deceased
Avan loves his mother with all his heart, even if she's gone. He had had always had a special bond with her; she was the one he went too when he was feeling out of place. After her death, a part of Avan fell to pieces. He still talks to her when he's alone, and tries to do what he thinks his mother would want from him, even if his judgment isn't always the best.
SIBLINGS:
Forrest Mark Warren ; 18 ; Student
Avan and his brother get along like normal siblings. They like one another, to an extent. Forrest has his friends, and Avan has his; they don't spend a lot of time together, and therefore they don't know each other very well. The thought frustrates Avan, because he knows he'll never be the big brother both of them wanted.

Avan grew up on a ranch outside of Houston, roughly a two day drive, with his father and mother, and his little brother Forrest. His family is upper class, even if he doesn't like to say it. When he was younger, Avan would help his father around the ranch; stacking bales of hay, training horses, herding cattle, etc. He knew how to ride a horse by the time he was seven, and as he got older he entered a few rodeos which caused his love for Bronco riding. Unfortunately, it cost him numerous broken bones but he still loved it regardless.
Age Ten
When Avan turned ten, his mother fell very ill, and was diagnosed with lung cancer. It didn't really surprise the doctors, for Avan's mother had been smoking since she was fifteen. She was a upbeat and caring woman, with a passion for animals, which was the reason she was a veterinarian. She died on May 21st, a month before Avan's eleventh birthday. He had had self esteem and emotional troubles before her death, but after her passing it grew worse and worse. His father wasn't much of a help, considering he become bitter and stubborn over the years after Ellie's death. He then went into counseling, which helped slightly, along with being prescribed anti-depressants to ease his troubled mind.
Age Fourteen
When Avan was fourteen, him and a few friends went camping, which resulted in Avan getting mauled by a bear. This lead to him having a horrific fear of bears and anything to do with hospitals. The incident left him with gory scars all over his back, left shoulder, side, hip and thigh. He had to go through three years of physical therapy, and yet still sometimes his shoulder and hip begin to ache and feel strained, which he has pain killers for.
Age Sixteen
When Avan turned sixteen, everything truly took a turn for the worse. He started getting in trouble with the cops, and would stay away from home for days at a time, often getting drunk and crashing at his 'friends' houses. He would steal, get in nasty fights and go on drinking binges. Eventually, he began experimenting with drugs. Cocaine and marijuana were what attracted him the most and over the course of a year his life crumbled in his hands. Relations with his father and brother grew worse to the point that they were strangers to him. He wouldn't sleep for days, and became dependent on pills. Finally he was caught at a party by the police, and was sentenced to rehab and juvy.
Age Seventeen-Eighteen
Avan stayed in rehab for three months; through May, June, and July going through his eighteenth birthday. When he got out, he swore he would change his life. He knew how to play the guitar since he was eight, and so he deiced to completely devote himself to the instrument and wrap himself up in a world of music. Sadly, he still struggles with alcohol and is in a constant battle to stop taking pills. He's tried and fallen many times, but he refuses to give up.
Age Nineteen - Twenty-four
Mostly he just drifted through life, keeping his head low and staying out of the eye of the law enforcement. He went to school a little bit, learning how to be a music instructor and other little things. It wasn't until he decided to travel outside the United States and landed himself in England did he start to take things more seriously.
Now
He applied for a job at Eddingborough as a music teacher roughly two years ago, and was ecstatic when they accepted him considering he had nineteen years of experience behind him. It took a lot of convincing, compromises, lies, and a tiny deal until he was accepted into the private and refined school.
