FACE CLAIM: Alex Evans
HEIGHT: 5 foot 7 inches
WEIGHT: 180 pounds
HAIR: Brown
EYES: Blue
BUILT: Medium
STANCE: Claude walks confidently but casually with his head up, and his shoulders back. His hands are always in his pockets as his feet shuffle down the halls. While some boys may look away from eyes when making contact with another pair, Claude may very well look defiantly at his counterpart. He would rather them be looking away from him after all.
SCARS: A tattoo with the words "Est. 1992" in dark green ink between the boy's shoulder blades.
CLOTHES: Claude has never been very interested in fashion or anything that he has to wear. When he is not dressed in the required Eddingborough uniform he wears blue jeans with ocassional rips in the knees of them. He'll often wear just a plain white tee shirt in addition unless the situation calls for otherwise.
VOICE: Baritone

FEARS:
» achluophobia- the fear of darkness.
Since Claude was young and lived with his mother, he was easily frightened by the dark. Since he and Mommy dearest didn't live high on the hog by any means, the electricity bill on their apartment sometimes went unpaid. The time that particularly sticks out to him was during a tremendous windstorm and the electricity was cut off. Claude was only four, home alone while his mother was at work. He had been left home alone before when she was gone, not that it was legal. He cannot remember what happened that night that caused him to panic, because he blacked out. Though he would never admit it, Claude cannot stand completely small and dark places. Often at night, he'll leave a television on or a lamp, just for reassurance.
» gerascophobia- the fear of growing old.
Claude has never been afraid of dying--he has been afraid of what will kill him. And, with that fear, he's also been afraid of growing old. He hates birthdays more than anything. During his childhood, his birthday wasn't celebrated often, but he always knew he was getting older, and getting closer to the age of when he would die. If anything, Claude wants to die in his youth.
» philophobia- the fear of falling in love or being in love.
Getting married and having a family has never been the "Big Picture" for Claude's life. If anything, he hope he never does. He doesn't mind the physical parts of a relationship, but the emotional side of it all has him troubled. Claude does not see himself to be a sentimental person by any means. He hopes to be an unmarried man for all of his life-- and that's a key fact that helps to break up most of his relationships, if he ever gets to the point of telling the girl he's with his ideals.
POSITIVES:
» good friend/lover- Claude rarely gets close to another person intimately but when he does, he is often caring and protective of that person. The same goes for friendships. It is not always easy for Claude to make friends with anyone, but when he does, he would make excuses to be near to them. Claude may act reserved, but often he wants not to be.
» determined- Claude didn't make it into Eddingborough just through his parents financial aid. He can often be careless with his school work, math in particular, but in his English classes, he strives to do his best.... depending on the day. If he would get his act together with his math classes, maybe he'd be in a better state than he is.
» writing & music- If nothing else, Claude can always find a way to express himself through writing and music. He doesn't write song lyrics or anything, but he can crack out a rhyme or two. Music can always take over his mind if he's stressed. When he listens to music or has music on the brain though, its nearly impossible for him to focus. His entire mind will be spent on following each beat and lyric as his fingers tap to the beat.
» social- When Claude has to, he can manage to make allies. Depending on who the person is, however, he may not offer his best effort to keep up the friendship.
NEGATIVES:
» insecure- Claude likes to play it off that he is as confident and collected as any guy at Eddingborough, but let's be honest. Claude has never considered himself to be handsome or even a consolation prize to any girl. In most of his relationships, he's had to rely on extravagant gifts and phenomenal sex. Otherwise, Claude would feel like he'd lose the girl, yet again. Even with writing, which he's been told before is a true work, he cannot believe. Humans lie and in any case, they lie to him. Claude has never been trusting.
» alcohol- Since he became a teenager, Claude has always been around a drink of some type. Both of his parents drank and so it was always easy to sneak a beer or a glass of wine without their notice. When Claude is drunk he is irrational and irresponsible. He does dares which he later regrets, such as the tattoo on his back. Since he got it such a young age from by illegal means, he always had to hide it at home. It was not always a hard task. But, once his step-mother did find out, he was given more hell than he could handle. Now, more than just a sign of stupidity and resentment of his parents, it's a brand of pain.
» loner- For most of his life, Claude has been alone. For up to nine years (please see His-story) Claude had been an only child. That had some perks, sure, but he never had anyone to play with when he was home alone. When he did stumble upon some siblings for himself, they had no interest in him. Claude is very poor at making and holding onto friendships. Secretly, in a way he would never admit, Claude doesn't go out of his way for people because he knows it will never last. Either they will turn away from him, or die. That's what it all amounts to in the end, or how Claude sees it.
» math- It's his worst subject. Math makes no sense to the boy who would rather spend his time daydreaming or sleeping. Claude is more of a creative person; he enjoys the arts of language and words. In his mind, there is no room to memorize the quadratic formula. He could use up that brain power for something much more rewarding.
TALENT(S):
» literature- As stated before, Claude has always had a real knack for English. He doesn't particularly love to read, but he can read well. He's read the classics, such as Shakespeare and others, and most of the time understood what was being said. He also writes his own compositions, but he doesn't believe them to be of value.
» quick thinker- In panic situations, Claude most of the time can manage to remain calm and rational. In fact, during panic situations, that is normally the only time when he is responsible for others, even strangers, around him.
HABIT(S):
» Will touch or cover his tattoo with his hand if he feels judged or insecure. In addition he has developed the habit of unconciously tearing his nails into the area of his tattoo; as if trying to rip it off.
» Doesn't think of the consequences of his actions and so rarely has other people's feelings in mind.
LIKES:
» music
» english class
» being by himself
» alcohol
DISLIKES:
» math/logic
» hangovers
» being forced to share a room
» his family/past

[bg=ffffff][atrb=width,330,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true] history . ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
Claude's past is...difficult, for him to talk about. Well, it would be for anyone, if your birthday was a day that was purposely forgotten, rather celebrated. Claude, was a product of an affair.
MaryAnne Kepp, was the standard tramp around Miami Florida. And, it wasn't too long until she was finally cursed for her efforts. Claude was born on April 25th, 1992. Just, his birth wasn't public, wasn't celebrated. He was lucky he didn't end up abandoned, though he had to say he'd rather it. He never met his father until his nine, because that was the only time that his father knew of his existence. MaryAnne died, giving birth to yet another infidelity. So, when he was nine, he was shipped off to live with the Clarks, but always kept his mother's last name. He'd already gone by it for so long. And, of course, he never knew of the flat out truth. He didn't think of his mother as someone to block out of his mind. Her being helped shape him, even though times were often rough. Her passing, even though it was due to another under-the-rug act, hurt him. He didn't want to come and live with these people he never met. He'd rather tough it out on his own, or die trying. But, some parts we rent all terrible. He and his brother at first hit it off really well, or as well as being step brothers could be. Eventually, the walked separate paths, which Claude was more than used to.
He can easily describe his step mother in one word, one of which he's never used much, considering he rarely cursed at home. He was the let down to her and his father's social status. Served them right to be kicked down, or so Claude thought. He was pushed to the hardest, but Claude had never been unacquainted to hard work. He often kept to himself, locking himself away from his family whenever possible. As many would assume, he was none too eager to accept new people into his life after gaining an entire family he never knew before.
As far as his relationship with his brother, at some points, it couldn't been stronger. They'd gone through thick and thin, Daiton sticking up for Claude, and vice versa. Honestly, Claude had grown used to having Daiton as his soul friend. What else would've been expected, from two boys, complete strangers yet so close in age? But, one thing that clearly defined them both, was that Daiton was his complete and utter opposite. Each day that he and his brother played or fought together only reminded him ever so much of the saying "Opposites Attract". But, it can get to a point where complete opposites, can break one or the other. Teen years rolled on through, bringing the horrible effects of puberty. Ah, yes, puberty. What a lovely time of life. Daiton shot up, attracting the most attention. Claude at first didn't think of it much, until it started winning Daiton some things he could never accomplish. Girls. Claude hated to admit it, even to himself, but sometimes he truly hated his brother and best friend for it. To be simple, he was flat out disgusted by it. But, he'd found another friend, alcohol.
As Daiton branched out, getting any girl he could ever want, Claude shut down. He'd rather shut up, than to tick off his former friend. Daiton could kick his ass now. He stuck to his studies, as he'd always done. It came to the point, that he was actually an acknowledged existence to his father and step mother. At first, being recognized gave him a certain thrill. He'd never tried much to rise to his parents' level of expectations. But, it was short lived. He was soon sent off to Eddingborough just to keep up his family's appearance. He didn't consider himself "prestigious" in the least. He found his way out in less than a year. But, there was certainly no way that his parents were going to let him off that easily. To his large disliking, he was yet again shunned away to Eddingborough School for Boys.
